Food Services

Here, parents and families can find information and learn about Rising Stars Islamic School's Food Service Program and Policies.
At Rising Stars Islamic School, we believe that nutritious food fuels meaningful learning. Our Food Services team prepares fresh, satisfying, and student-friendly meals that help students stay energized, focused, and ready to succeed throughout the school day.
Our menus are thoughtfully planned to include a variety of foods from all major food groups, providing the appropriate balance of calories and nutrients students need for healthy growth and development. Meals are prepared in accordance with halal requirements and are designed to meet or exceed current federal and New York State nutrition standards. Meal plans emphasize wholesome ingredients, fresh fruits, colorful vegetables, whole-grain options, and appropriate portions.
Menus are also carefully planned to limit sodium, saturated fat, added sugar, and trans fat while offering meals that students will enjoy.
Rising Stars Islamic School Food Services supports the health, well-being, and success of every student by providing nourishing meals, thoughtful planning, and caring service. Our nutrition standards follow the requirements of the National School Lunch Program and provide age-appropriate calorie levels for grade groups: Pre-K and K–6 as well as healthy smart snacks for our Title 1 students.
